Lady Panthers earn all-conference honors, Trojans freshman wins Gold Division Wrestler of the Year

Aniya Coleman and Maddie Kubicki topped the list of nine Park Hill South girl wrestlers who made the all-conference team in the Red Division.

Park Hill South junior Maddie Kubicki, above, was a first team selection in the Kansas City Suburban Conference Red Division after posting an undefeated record and winning a third straight state championship.

Coleman (100) and Kubicki (141) were both first-team selections after the junior duo made a trip to state wrestling. At Mizzou Arena, Kubicki won her third straight state title and Coleman ended the season with a 27-16 overall record and 2-2 record at state.

Park Hill South also had a pair of wrestlers make the Kansas City Suburban Conference Red Division Second Team. Maddie Fosmoe was in the 120-weight class and Tristyn McCoy was in the 235-weight class to earn a second team selection.

The Lady Panthers had five Red Division Honorable Mentions: Celeste Robin (115), Lucia Henriquez (130), Mylee Lentz (135), Anna Katz (149) and Sammy Medina (159). The Park Hill girls’ wrestling team also had some postseason recognition and news.

After winning state as a freshman, Lina Vargas has been awarded the Kansas City Suburban Conference Gold Division Wrestler of the Year. Vargas posted a 41-1 overall record in the 115-weight class.

Park Hill senior Taryn Johnson has also made some new as she has committed to Missouri Baptist University. The 125-pound wrestler punched a ticket to state in her senior campaign.
