The Platte County girls’ golf team ended with a total of 360 points to earn a second place finish at the Oak Park Invitational on Sept. 20.
The Pirates had three golfers finish in the top-10 overall. Platte County was led by Eden Shipp who finished third overall with a score of 83.
“We are very proud of the way the team played today,” Platte County head golf coach Trevor Short said. “We started off a little rocky at the beginning, but brought back the fire after the first few holes of the day.”
Bailey Scott tied for fifth place when the Pirate finished with 89 strokes. Lily Ricketts was tied for eighth place when she ended with 92 points.
Ella Green shot a 92 to earn 15th place and Brylie Kovar ended with 108 to earn 40th place.
“The mid-year grind has gotten us a little bit, but we will regroup this week and re energize for the duration of the season. The rest of this week we will focus on getting our bodies healthy and refocusing mentally,” Short said.
This week, Platte County will host Staley for a match on Sept. 27. Then the Pirates are back at Smithville for the Smithville Invitational on Sept. 29.
