Lady Trojans take third place at Lady Jaguar Invite

The Park Hill girls’ golf team came out in third place out of 20 schools in the Lady Jaguar Invitational – while Park Hill South claimed eleventh place – at the Lakewood Oaks Country Club on September 6.

Liberty North won the tournament with 440 strokes and Blue Springs South was in second two strokes later with the Lady Trojans finishing with 356 strokes. The Lady Panthers ended the invite with 402 strokes.

Park Hill freshman Makenna Kincheloe was the fourth best golfer on the day, with 136 total golfers, when she shot an 80. Lady Trojan teammates Reagan Bell and Rhea Akula tied at 90 strokes in an 8-way tie, while Kate Martorana ended the day with 96 strokes and Ruby Bell finished with 104 strokes.

Park Hill South’s top finisher was Brynlee Justice who tied for 29th place with 94 strokes. Regan Lee was the next best Lady Panther with 99 strokes, with Molly Toohig ending with 103 strokes.

Addi Grimm and Cate Ferguson were knotted at 106 strokes when the day came to an end. After the Lady Jaguar Invitational, Park Hill South competed against Platte County – and two other schools – in the Liberty North Match at Winter Stone Golf Course on September 7.

Liberty North won the match with 168 strokes, followed by Blue Springs with 179. Park Hill South claimed third place with 189 strokes and Platte County was in fourth place with 198 strokes.

Park Hill South’s Makenna Casey was the second best golfer on the day – only behind Liberty North’s Bailey Burkett’s 34 strokes – when the Lady Panther shot a 39. Park Hill South’s next three golfers, Regan Lea, Justice and Toohig, all ended with 51 strokes and Ferguson finished with 48 strokes.

Park Hill’s Reagan Bell was in an 8-way tie for ninth place in the Lady Jaguar Invitational when she finished with 90 strokes at the Lakewood Oaks Country Club on Sept. 6.

Brylie Kovar’s 47 strokes was the best for the Lady Pirates, while Platte County senior Bailey Silcott was in a 3-way tie for 9th place overall with 48 strokes, immediately followed by Ella Green one stroke later. Lily Ricketts ended with 54 strokes and Mac Borland finished with 57 strokes.

After that match, Platte County headed to the Moila Country Club for the St. Joe Central Invitational on September 9. The Lady Pirates came out on top, finishing with a team score of 348 at the par 71 course.

On top of leading Platte County to win the St. Joe Central Invitational, Green set a school record – which was previously held by Amy Silcott, Kasydie Shipp and Eden Shipp – for low round in a tournament when she finished in second place overall with 80 strokes.

Silcott finished with 87 strokes to earn 5th place, immediately followed by Ricketts one place and one stroke behind her and Mac Borland ended with 93 strokes to tie in 9th place.
