Holiday spirit wasn’t enough for the North Platte boys’ basketball team as the Panthers came up short against Nodaway-Holt, 70-58, in the 12 Courts of Christmas at Hy-Vee Arena.
The Thunder’s offense was electrifying early on, scoring 27 points in the opening frame opposed to the Panthers’ nine points. North Platte headed into the locker room with a 40-21 deficit.
The Panthers’ offense started rolling in the second half as Liam Servaes scored nine points and Wesley Meadows added six points after the duo went scoreless in the opening 16 minutes.
North Platte nearly matched its opening half total in the third quarter alone - pouring out 20 points - but still trailed by 11 points.
Nodaway-Holt held off North Platte in the fourth quarter, despite the Panthers knocking down three of their total eight 3-pointers. Landon Bartlett led the Panthers with 21 points and Kruise Patch added 15 points.
