Dr. Matthew Noyce has been practicing for almost 11 years. He spent four and a half years out of residency practicing in Wisconsin. When he moved to the Kansas City area six years ago he purchased the St. Joseph, Mo. practice in 2016. He decided to open the Platte City office recently to accommodate his patients who live closer to Kansas City, plus he wanted an office closer to his home which is in Platte City.
His practice, Noyce Orthodontics at 510 Branch St., Platte City, offers the latest in technology in both braces and clear aligners, including Damon Braces which use lighter forces, move teeth faster and are more comfortable for patients.
“Spark Aligners are a significant improvement over Invisalign, with clearer material that is more stain resistant and each aligner is more comfortable with hand-polished edges,” Noyce said.
The Damon-Bracket system where each bracket has a ‘door’ that holds the wire in place as opposed to traditional braces that require metal or elastic ties to bind the wire in place. The door allows the bracket to slide along the wire with less friction thereby speeding tooth movement while lowering discomfort.
Noyce said good oral hygiene at the beginning, and throughout the course of treatment is very important for healthy teeth and gums.
“We recommend the use of an electric toothbrush and/or water flosser with braces and give instructions on the proper technique to keep braces and teeth clean and healthy,” Noyce said. “We also recommend avoiding sugary and acidic foods and beverages including candies, sodas, and sports drinks.”
The doctor loves the small town feel of Platte City and the friendly and welcoming people in the community, which is why he decided to move to the town along with the close distance of big city amenities.
One of the amenities offered by the practice is the Patient Reward Hub which Noyce said his patients love.
Patients are awarded points at each appointment for various things like keeping their teeth and braces clean, being on time to their appointment, not breaking any brackets, wearing their rubber bands as prescribed, or even wearing their Noyce Orthodontics T-shirt. Patients can redeem their points at any time for a gift card that they can select from a large assortment of choices.
While there are some challenges to his job including motivating patients to take care of their teeth and to wear the rubber bands, Noyce said the rewards far outweigh those challenges. “To see the impact a healthy, beautiful smile has on each patient the day the braces come off never gets old and keeps me striving to acheive the best results for each patient each and every day,” Noyce said. “I’m excited to bring the latest in orthodontic technology to Platte City and to create many beautiful, healthy smiles over the years to come.”
