Celebrating a man memorialized as a friend to all, Park University has dedicated its new sports medicine center to Parkville resident Ed Bradley, who died earlier this year.
The ceremony was held Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Park University Academic Underground and featured speakers such as university president Dr. Greg Gunderson, former president Dr. Don Breckon, Parkville mayor Nan Johnston and others.
“Ed was a giver in a world of takers and he will always be my brother from another mother,” said Claude English, Park’s director of athletics.
Gunderson spoke of his first meeting with Bradley and presented a hand-carved wooden pen — one of Gunderson’s hobbies — to Bradley’s wife, Peg.
Bradley, formerly of BankLiberty, volunteered for the Parkville and Platte County economic development councils and numerous other civic organizations.
He was named the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Northlander of the Year in 2017.
