The North Platte girls’ cross-country team finished in first place as a team and West Platte sophomore Julia Pattison was the first individual finisher when the teams competed at Missouri Western State University on Oct. 2.
Pattison took nearly 30 seconds off of her time from when she ran at the same course at the beginning of the season on Sept. 4. The sophomore ended with a time of 20:01, which was 27 seconds faster than the second-place individual.
North Platte freshman Brianna DeBord finished in third place to lead the Panthers when she ended with a time of 20:45. Jessa Cassity ended in seventh place with a time of 21:27.
One spot outside of the top-10, Shelby Lingle crossed the finish line with a time of 22:42. Lonee French was the 25th runner to finish the race when the junior finished in 24:06.
West Platte only had two more runners compete, Alex Snegiriva and Olivia Marquart. Snegiriva ran a new career best with a time of 27:58, while Marquart ended with a time of 37:49.
North Platte finished with two less points than St. Pius X as the Panthers came out in first place with 52 points. The next race for the Blue Jays and Panthers will be at Kearney on Oct. 9.
