The Platte County boy’s swimming team ended in fourth place of the Gold Division in the Pirate Invitational at Belton High School on Saturday, Sept. 11.
With 19 schools competing at the invite, they were split into two separate divisions based on the size of each school. There were eight schools in the Gold Division and the Pirates ended in the top half with 260 points.
Senior Dylan Bietz ended in first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.81. Junior Collin Burton ended in ninth place with a time of 24.41.
Burton competed in the 100-yard butterfly and finished in third place with a 58.09 split. 1:02.30 was the time for eighth place finisher Deacon Gutshell.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Bietz was the third place finisher with a time of 51.52. Freshman Palmer Keith was in fifth place with a 52.18 time. 1:05.97 was the time of the seventh place finisher, Carson Howe, in the 100-yard backstroke.
Keith impressed with a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05. 27. Howe ended in 16th place with a time of 2:34.78.
The 400-yard freestyle relay ended in third place with a time of 3:32. 88. The team consisted of Burton, Gutshall, Bietz and Keith. The same four guys were on the 200-yard medley relay team and ended in second place with a time of 1:47.95.
