The Kansas City Aviation Department gave members of the media a behind-the-scenes tour of the new KCI Airport terminal currently under construction alongside the existing airport.

To mark the one year anniversary since the start of structural steel construction on the Kansas City International Airport new terminal, the Kansas City Aviation Department allowed media tours of the site on Tuesday, April 6. In the past 12 months, workers have installed more than 12,300 pieces, or 9,450 tons, of steel to create the new terminal’s skeleton. Ground was broken on the project in 2019.
