Trojans take down Warriors, Wildcats

The Park Hill boys’ swimming team took care of business in a home double dual, with the Trojans defeating Blue Springs 96-85 and Smithville 114-49 on September 13.

Jack Stanley was a major key to the Trojans’ success, winning two individual events and being on two relay teams that finished in first place. The senior won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.69 and the 100-yard freestyle in 50.09 seconds.

Stanley was the lead leg in the Trojans’ 200-yard freestyle relay that finished in 1:38.24, which was 3.32 seconds ahead of second place Blue Springs. Stanley was joined by Raphael Realina, David Keightley and Finn Harrold in the 400-yard freestyle relay when Park Hill’s time of 3:38.06 was good enough to win the race.

Realina also claimed first place in two events, starting with the 50-yard freestyle in 24.03 seconds. The Trojan moved on to earn first place in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 59.28 seconds.

Harrold collected second place in a pair of races, beginning with the 200-yard freestyle – that Stanley beat him in – as he finished in 2:07.28. Harrold finished the 500-yard freestyle in 5:44.04, with the opening split of 30.23 seconds being his fastest.

Keightley took first place in the 100-yard backstroke and second place in the 200-yard individual medley with times of 1:03.50 and 2:16.93, respectively. Jack Hagner earned third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.90.
