Although city hall may be closed to the public, work continues inside. With the retirement of long-time city clerk Kim Kirby looming, the board of aldermen has named her replacement.
Tami Weaver, who currently works for the city as assistant city clerk and collector, was hired as the new city clerk during a closed session meeting held last month. Kirby will remain city clerk and train her replacement until July 15.
Carrie McCardie will take Weaver’s place as collector and assistant city clerk.
The board also hired Brayan Rodriguez and Jonnie Wolters to the public works department.
